5x de meest verbazingwekkende lyrics van Pink
Zingt ze dit nou echt?!
Al 19 jaar staat P!nk aan de muzikale top en wordt ze gewaardeerd om haar catchy hits. Maar wist je dat haar liedjes inhoudelijk ook heel interessant zijn? Niemand is zo brutally honest als P!nk! Ze steekt de draak met aanstellerige vrouwen, Amerikaanse presidenten en zelfs haar grote liefde..
Om je he-le-maal voor te bereiden op haar shows in de Johan Cruijff ArenA en het Malieveld, zette ik haar meest verbazingwekkende lyrics op een rij.
1. U + Ur Hand
In U + Ur Hand gaat Pink de stad in, maar zeker niet om een leuke man aan de haak te slaan. In tegendeel, iedere ‘dick head’ die bij haar in de buurt komt, wijst ze bruut af;

2. Stupid Girls
Als stoere rockchick ben je natuurlijk allergisch voor aanstellerige, oppervlakkige vrouwen. Pink schreef haar frustratie niet van zich af in een traditionele feministische powersong, maar maakte deze vrouwen op geheel eigen wijze duidelijk dat ze met hun gedrag niet het beste tot hun recht komen;

3. So What
Als het uit gaat met motorcrosser Carey Hart, schrijft Pink So What.
So, so what? I’m still a rockstar

And guess what? I’m havin’ more fun
And now that we’re done, I’m gonna show you tonight
I’m alright
I’m just fine and you’re a tool
Ze noemt hem een ‘tool’! Really?! Minstens zo bizar als deze woordkeuze, is het feit dat hij te zien is in de bijbehorende videoclip én dat ze daarna weer bij elkaar zijn gekomen!
4. Dear Mr. President
In Dear Mr. President schrijft Pink een open brief aan president George W. Bush. Ze stelt hem (gewetens)vragen over de oorlog Irak en zijn beleid rondom homorechten en daklozen.
Anno 2006 komt kritiek op de gevestigde orde in popmuziek veel minder voor dan nu en de volgende tekst is dan ook behoorlijk gewaagd;

I can only imagine what the first lady has to say

Een punt maken door hem aan te spreken op zijn persoonlijke party-verleden.. gedurfd!
5. True Love
Hoe ziet ware liefde er voor Pink uit? Verwacht geen cheesy teksten of dromerige poëzie, dit is romantiek op z’n P!nks:

Dat is toch.. uhm.. bijzonder?
